Simon's Saturday 2/18/2012Simon is a 2nd grade student at St. Ann's School. He's been fighting leukemia for most of his life and wil be undergoing a bone marrow transplant on February 9th. There are many children and adults who also need this life saving transplant - anyone of them could be your child, sibling, parent or friend. So, let's celebrate Simon and his fight by getting swabbed. February 18th will be a bone marrow donor drive. A quick cheek swab and you will be entered into the donor database. It's fast, easy and saves lives. Please click here for a copy of the flyer with more information. You can also search for "Simon's Saturday - Bone Marrow Drive" on Facebook, or call Kelly Sisonick at 484-347-7258 or email her at kelly.sisonick@parentebeard.com. Please help if you can. Everyone deserves a chance at life. |

"Literally unconscionable" is how the US Catholic Bishops described a recent ruling from the department of Health and Human Services regarding an aspect of the healthcare reform legislation. It requires that all Americans, as of August 1st 2012, purchase government approved health insurance that provides for sterilizations and FDA approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions.
As such, employers must provide insurance plans that cover those services. Therefore, as a Catholic, you will be required by law to either purchase or supply a product that includes provisions for things we believe as violating moral law. ... | By Knight Blogger on 3/27/2011 4:48 PM

In case you haven't become aware, there's a computer virus making the rounds. Technically called a worm, it is initially propagated via a simple email message with the subject line of "Here you have" or "Just for you". Inside the poorly worded email is a link to a seemingly harmless pdf document. The body reads "This is the document I told you about". However, the link actually causes the computer to download the virus ( w32.insolk.B@mm). The virus infects the machine by... | By Knight Blogger on 12/23/2009 1:49 PM
My inbox has been getting crowded with emails regarding the health care bill. Of particular discussion at present has been its connection to abortion funding through subsidies and other shell games played with our tax dollars.
The Catholic Church is perfectly clear on this matter. Click here to read Cardinal Rigali's comments regarding Catholic members of congress and their support of health care reform.

You can't turn on the news anymore without hearing the words 'heath care reform', followed by lots of conflicting information, yea's, nay's, cheers and jeers. It is an important topic as it affects everyone in our country medically and financially. Pennsylvania's Catholic Bishops recently discussed this hot topic. The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference web site covered this story and you can see it by clicking here. ... | By Knight Blogger on 8/3/2009 8:01 PM
While the debate over health care reform rages on (what is it, who gets it, who pays for it), Cardinal Rigali wrote on July 29 to the members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee urging them to amend “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act” (H.R. 3200) to retain longstanding government policies on abortion and conscience rights.
