B-I-N-G-O!

Start the School Year with BINGO! - 9/22/2010

Start the school year the right way - with BINGO! We will be hosting the first bingo night of our scholarship year on Wednesday, September 22nd in the school cafeteria. Doors open at 7pm, first game starts at 7:30. $20 to get in includes food (meatball hoagies!) and 2 cards that you can play all night. Extra cards for the night are $5 and there are 'specials'. This will be a 50-50 prize night, meaning that half of the money collected from admission and card sales will be used as prizes. So, the more folks that come, the bigger the pot. There will be extra food and drinks to purchase too. The other half that is collected will go towards our annual scholarship program. We're hoping for another great turnout so that we can be very generous to more college bound high school students. Please plan to come and play so that our high school seniors can be the big winners!

Blood Drive on August 1st

We are currently organizing a blood drive at St. Ann's Church Cafeteria, which will take place on Sunday August 1st from 9am to 2pm. Our area is always in need of donated blood. We hope to have a tremendous response from our parishoners who are willing to roll up their sleves and donate. There is no substitute for human blood and so the only source for the people who need it - is YOU.  Please donate if you can. Visit www.giveapint.org/donate/facts for some interesting facts about blood donation. For more information or to make an appointment, go to the 'Contact Us' page and leave us a confidential message or call us at 484-519-0562 A Knight from our council will get in touch with you. Thank you!

Driver License Fees to Increase
From The NetBy Knight Blogger on8/29/2008 1:41 PM

Here's a newsletter announcement from Rep. Karen Beyer about an increase in drivers license fees.  They are slated to go up $2 in December.  It's supposed to help with the actual cost of the photo, but I doubt they're going to get more smiles because of it.  Read more by clicking here.

Defense of Marriage
From The NetBy Knight Blogger on8/29/2008 1:06 PM

As you know, the K of C has been very outspoken about the "defense of marriage". Recently, they donated 1 million dollars to support proposition 8 in California.  You can click here to read more from their press release.

Politics Not As Usual
From The NetBy Knight Blogger on8/29/2008 12:48 PM

Well, politics has been a popular email theme lately (gee, we wonder why).  Please keep in mind that the Knights of Columbus can not endorse a party or candidate. However, we can stress that voters look for candidates that posess good Catholic values and judgement.

That really goes not just for the presidential candidates, but for any candidate on the ballot for any contest, local or otherwise.  Some good articles are out there that talk about things t ...

Great article on the amazing stability of the Knights' insurance program.  Triple A rating for 16 years in a row is pretty amazing, especially considering some of the current economic difficulties.  Read more by clicking here.
