You may have heard that the US Department of Health and Human Services is inviting public comment on a proposal to rescind a federal regulation. This regulation essentially protects the conscience rights of health care providers, especially those at risk of descrimination because of their moral or religious objections to abortion.
This means that without this protection, a doctor or other health care provider can be fired for refusing to perform abortions because of religious or moral reasons.
