This has been hitting the "Net" from a bunch of sources most recently from "Fathers For Good". Opening on March 23rd, "October Baby" is a pro-life dramatic movie with a beautiful message about the worth of every human life. This film by Christian filmmakers, brothers Andrew and Jon Erwin is inspired by the true-life story of abortion survivor Gianna Jessen. The reviews say that it doesn't vilify women that have had abortions and is compassionate and sensitive.

In case you haven't become aware, there's a computer virus making the rounds. Technically called a worm, it is initially propagated via a simple email message with the subject line of "Here you have" or "Just for you". Inside the poorly worded email is a link to a seemingly harmless pdf document. The body reads "This is the document I told you about". However, the link actually causes the computer to download the virus (w32.insolk.B@mm). The virus infects the machine by...

This is more of a public service announcement for our area. However, if you aren't from around here, you should look into a similar program through your local law enforcement agency.

The Pennsylvania State Police will be at the following locations using the child identification unit known as Fot-O Kid:

Emmaus EMS Open House 100 North 6th St.,Emmaus, PA Saturday, May 16th from 10 am – 2 pm

and also at:

I missed this one in the main media outlets. Apparently the various forces selling abortion services are looking for their bailout too - click here for more from the Catholic News Agency. The Susan B. Anthony List has a webform that you can use to petition your senator to "just say no" to any such bailout.

It's December 12th, counting today, there are only 13 more shopping days until Christmas. I've seen the frenzied eyes of dozens upon dozens of shoppers walking zombie like through the stores with more packages than a Fed-Ex truck. You'd hardly know that there's a recession going on. Unfortunately, many of those shoppers are probably digging themselves into debt. The Federal Trade Commission has posted some great tips for managing to keep the 'season of giving' within budget. You can view their post by clicking...

This time of year brings a significant rise in the number emails, animated cards, attachments, games, chain letters, jokes, and video links. Additionally, some messages may be identity theft scams, or contain malicious links or attachments. Please exercise caution when opening your email and clicking on any links that are included. If you aren't 100% sure about the sender, it's better to disregard the email than to risk infecting your computer or having personal financial data stolen from it. Also, many of us rely on the convenience of online shopping. Here are some tips that can save you trouble:

I recently received a link to a survey done on NBC about a piece they did on removing "In God We Trust" from currency. This is an old survey from 2005, but the email about it is still making the rounds. You can view the page by clicking here.

In the same theme, there's been a bunch of news articles about God and the public square, and the assult on Christmas and our Catholic values. Here's some interesting stories you may want to read.

The weather the past few days has been rather chilly and is a reminder that the very cold days of the winter are not too far off. While surfing for some other info, I came across these excellent cold weather safety tips and reminders.

Clean or change your furnace filter as the cold weather approaches. You should have your heating system inspected or serviced once a year for safety, longer life and better performance. Install programmable thermostats on heaters and timers on lamps two additional...

Here's a newsletter announcement from Rep. Karen Beyer about an increase in drivers license fees.  They are slated to go up $2 in December.  It's supposed to help with the actual cost of the photo, but I doubt they're going to get more smiles because of it.  Read more by clicking here.
