2012-2013 Scholarship ProgramWe are pleased to announce that we will again offer the Thomas J Mulkern Memorial Scholarship for college bound students of our parish. This Scholarship/Leadership award is offered based on Faith, Leadership, Service, and Educational Goals achieved during the student’s academic life. This year's single scholarship of $1500 is non-renewable and will be paid for the 2012-2013 academic year. Download the MS Word version of the application (with type-in fields) by clicking here or the Adobe pdf version (for handwritten responses) by clicking here. Responses must be postmarked by May 19th to be considered. In addition, we are excited to continue the scholarship offering for 8th grade students enrolled in Allentown Central Catholic for the 2012-2013 school year. This year's award will be $500. If you still don't have dinner plans for this Saturday, then come on down to St. Ann's school for the Relay For Life of Macungie Survivor Spaghetti Dinner, hosted by our council. Admission is free for cancer survivors and $9 for adults and $4 for children 5-12. Doors are open from 4pm-7pm and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Saturday, February 18th was Simon's Saturday at St. Ann's Church. You may have seen in our News section above, the story of Simon Ernst. Eight year old Simon has had leukemia for the past 5 years and needed a bone marrow transplant. Luckily, Simon was able to find a donor match - his sister. Recently, there has been some news that Lehigh Carbon Community College, and Northampton Community College are offering free tuition - up to 12 credits to residents of the counties they serve who have lost their jobs due to the economy.
Just today Bucks Community College has joined LCCC and NCC in offering a similar tuituion deal to the residents of the counties they serve, except they offer 30 free credits.

Many of you know that the our council regularly holds blood donation events at St. Ann's. However, the need for blood donors is constant and at present, our area supply is critically low. You can call Miller-Keystone Blood Center directly to make an appointment at 800-223-6667, or visit them online at www.miller-keystone.org.
