🌱The Knights of Columbus Council 12886 Garden of Mercy continues to shine as a living example of service, stewardship, and community nourishment. Volunteers gather week after week to tend the soil, harvest fresh produce, and deliver it directly to local families in need. The garden has become a place where compassion grows right alongside tomatoes, squash, zucchini, melons, and pumpkins.
This season’s most recent harvest log shows 241.75 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables gathered — a snapshot of the generosity rooted in every raised bed.


🍅 Tomatoes — 67.3 pounds
Twelve separate entries of tomatoes filled boxes and baskets, making them one of the most abundant crops. Their reliability ensures that families receiving donations always have access to a versatile, nutrient-rich staple.
🎃 Squash — 49.9 pounds
Summer squash thrived in the warm Pennsylvania sun, producing nearly fifty pounds of bright, flavorful fruit. Their adaptability in the kitchen makes them a favorite among food bank recipients.
🥒 Zucchini — 34.3 pounds
Including the “Uchino” entry, zucchini continues to be one of the garden’s most prolific producers. Its steady output helps maintain consistent weekly contributions.
🍉 Watermelon — 24 pounds
Few harvests bring smiles like watermelon. These hefty fruits add sweetness and hydration to donation boxes, especially appreciated during the summer months.
🎃 Pumpkin — 16.8 pounds
Pumpkins add both nourishment and seasonal charm. Whether destined for pies, soups, or festivities, they round out the garden’s diverse offerings beautifully.

To date, the Knights of Columbus Council 12886 Garden of Mercy has harvested 1017.5 pounds of produce for the local food banks, a remarkable achievement made possible by dedicated volunteers and a community committed to feeding its neighbors.
